TEHRAN – The Iranian Army (Artesh) issued a statement on Saturday emphasizing the imperative of safeguarding the country’s unity and cohesion, vowing that it will proactively counter the threats Iran faces.

The statement asserts that the resilient Iranian people, since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, have successfully expelled America’s plundering, imperialist and criminal elements from their soil, despite the U.S. attempting to impose its will on the country.

“Today, the adversary [the U.S.], driven by deceit and various conspiracies, is employing new tactics to subjugate the Iranian people and land, disrupting public order, and jeopardizing national security, with the backing of the child-killing Zionist regime,” the Army said.

It continued, “The enemy, indelibly tainted by killing hundreds of Iranians during the 12-day War, is seeking to ignite a conspiracy and another seditious plot amid its false promise of support for the Iranian people.”

The Army also urged the “noble and informed Iranian people” to remain “vigilant and mindful,” thereby neutralizing the enemy’s machinations, while upholding national unity and solidarity, and preventing their attainment of their nefarious goals.

“The Artesh [Army], under the command of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Khamenei, with unwavering support and collaboration with other armed forces, is operating with utmost sensitivity within the framework of its inherent mission,” the statement read.

It continued that in addition to monitoring the enemy’s movements in the region, the Army is obligated to safeguard national interests, strategic assets, and public property with unwavering vigilance and protection, and will decisively confront any threat.
